🚶‍♂️Not Walking Enough Kills Testosterone

🚫Being sedentary and not walking enough (low step count) is killing your Testosterone!!

👨‍🔬A 2021 retrospective cohort study on 279 men by Del Giudice Et al. found that men who walked at least 4,000 to 8,000 steps a day had significantly more testosterone than those who walked less, with >8,000 steps being better than >4,000 steps, and >4,000 being better than less than 4,000 etc. (PMID: 33580402).

🔬This is because walking, being a form of cardiovascular exercise, has profound effects on fat metabolism, inflammation control, insulin sensitivity, cortisol, estrogen, digestion, weight loss, neurotransmitter signaling (ie: dopamine), mitochondrial health, cardiovascular health, glucose control, muscle protein synthesis, and so much more.

📝Walk at least 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day (or do any form of cardiovascular training) daily, especially if you live a sedentary lifestyle.

🚫Remember that it is not just “walking” per se, but rather the act of being physically active that yields the T boosting benefits. Also keep in mind that the association goes both ways (being physically active boosts T, but T itself also tends to boost physical activity).
